I'm not normally review-driven or actively like posting reviews, but I do think it's worth it in this case. I had some things to do out in the Kankakee area and needed a little pick-me-up. Searching through google Maps took me to this spot, and I'm glad it did! I explained it was my first time there. I got a very thoughtful and thorough walk through the menu, there's so many options I wish I got to try. All the refresher-style drinks sounded like they were up my alley. However, I wasn't with my partner, so I wanted to get a latte on her behalf. Pictured with my post is a cookie butter latte that uses biscoff cookie butter, and i got 2% milk with mine. It was very well made, I saw all the care that was taken to make my drink in front of me, and it was exactly what I needed. I hope i have more errands in Kankakee soon to stop by again, but I would definitely make the drive down from Chicago for their drinks. 10/10 would drink again.
Cool progressive spot! We stopped in while traveling between Champaign and Chicago. There’s a cafe and some nice shopping. Check it out!
This place is literally the best cafe around. First off the staff are amazing. The time and effort they put into bringing this place into the community is evident. The aesthetics are beautiful and the menu options oh my goodness best smoothies by far and the coffee is amazing. Love love love this place🥰
Briefly stopped in while passing through and wish we'd had more time. Wide variety of flavors and seasonal drinks. Both of our lattes were amazing! If we're ever passing through again, we'll make sure to visit!
The service was amazing, the staff is so friendly and accommodating! The drinks I’ve tried so far have been delicious, not to mention the stunning presentation. Pictured is the 16 oz Tropical Mirage smoothie (I had it made with coconut milk). The decorations and atmosphere are so calming and welcoming, perfect to relax, study, or even browse their impressive collection of products they have for sale!
This place is such a vibe! Great place to study, read a book, or catch up friends. Such a chill vibe. They just have so many options and all a look amazing. I went with the Dubai Pistachio Latte Hot. Which was so creamy and delicious. This is a great little hidden gem in Kankakee, a must visit place!
This is exactly what downtown Kankakee needs. This place is unique, cozy, refreshing, and uplifting. There are lots of healthy and fresh drink and meal options on the menu. Food, service, and atmosphere is 10/10. My favorite thing about this business is the style and design that compliments the historical building it is located in. I wish this business much success!
*edited* I was always a vocal advocate of Awaken. Unfortunately, I won't go back. I used to love the acąi bowl, but they have made portions smaller and smaller. The last time we ordered, the bowl was barely half full, and you could see the difference. I called and the owner/manager wasn't there. The employee assured me she would call me back, but hasn't in the 2 weeks since. To make matters worse, I was at Stefari West that night, and the young ladies from Awaken were at the bar. Right before we left, I heard my name. They were actually talking about me, and that I had called and asked to talk to a manager. So I know for a fact that she does know, and just chooses not to call me back. I will go to Essential Smoothies now instead. (Original review) I absolutely LOVE the acai berry bowl. It is unmatched here in Kankakee County. I would eat it every day if I could. The employees are always helpful, anytime I go there. I have even gotten gift certificates for people, so different people can try it. Sometimes I just get the bowl, and sometimes I add a smoothie. Either way, flavors are awesome!!
I didn’t try the food or drinks on this visit, but I did purchase two of the infused candy bars—one aimed at relieving pain and aches, and the other for PMS symptom relief. I also picked up two types of patches: one for stress relief and another specifically for PMS. I’m definitely planning to come back to try the food and drinks! The drink menu including teas, smoothies, and coffees sound amazing. The atmosphere here is very calming and laid-back, making it a great place to unwind. They carry a wide variety of holistic items, candles, soaps, teas, beauty creams, gummies, pet treats, and more. In the back, there’s a cozy lounge area perfect for relaxing, and they even offer live music. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. This place has officially earned a spot on my “must-visit” list whenever I’m in Kankakee, IL!
This is the coolest little coffee joint ! Very nice chil atmosphere and delicious drinks. I got the cherry Pistachio latte and its one of the best I've ever had. The staff is so sweet and there's a nice little selection of teas oils and other littl3 self care items. Definitely will go again.
